About the Position
Kopanang Gold Mine is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Mine Manager to lead and manage all mining operations in a safe, productive, and cost-effective manner. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring legal compliance, achieving production targets, optimizing operational performance, and providing strong leadership to multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities
-
Ensure full compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA), Minerals Act, and all applicable regulations.

Take responsibility as the appointed Mine Manager in terms of relevant legislation.

Lead and manage all mining operations to achieve safety, production, and cost objectives.

Develop and implement mining strategies, plans, and budgets.
-
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.
-
Ensure effective risk management and implementation of safety systems.
-
Manage and develop subordinate managers, engineers, and operational teams.
-
Oversee contractor management and ensure compliance with company standards.
-
Monitor and report on production, costs, safety performance, and key operational metrics.

Foster positive engagement with employees, organized labour, regulators, and other stakeholders.

Ensure compliance with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) requirements.
Minimum Requirements
-
Grade 12 (Matric).
-
Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency (Metalliferous Mines) – Essential.
-
Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering.
-
Minimum 10 years' underground mining experience.
-
Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior mining management position.
-
Proven experience in conventional underground gold mining operations.
-
Strong knowledge of MHSA, MPRDA, and mining regulations.

Demonstrate leadership, strategic planning, and people management skills.

Computer literacy including Microsoft Office and mining management systems.

Valid driver's license.
