About the Position
Kopanang Gold Mine is looking for a skilled Battery Electric Technician (C1N) to join the Production Engineering team. The ideal candidate holds an Electrical Trade Certificate, a Technical N3 Certificate, and has at least 3 years' post-apprenticeship experience on locos, with extensive knowledge of Battery Electric units and Mernok Maxus systems. A valid Certificate of Fitness and driver's licence are required.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Grade10 / Std 8 or equivalent.

Must have at least a Technical N3 Certificate.

Demonstrate verbal and written English communication skills.

Must have an Electrical Trade Certificate.

3 years post apprenticeship experience on Loco’s.

Multi-Skill or Loco Technician Certification will be an advantage, but is not required.

Must have extensive experience on Battery Electric units.

Must be able to interpret electrical drawings.

Must have extensive experience on Mernok Maxus units including Maxus ‘’X’’.

Must have a valid Certificate of Fitness or be able to obtain it.

Duties and Responsibilities

To report directly to the General Engineering Supervisor.

Be prepared to do standby and work weekend overtime.

Be able to work independently.
-
Will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining and repairing locos to ensure they operate safely and efficiently.

Must have a valid driver’s licence and own transport.

Comply with Health and Safety Policies and Practices.
Salary
Salary will be in accordance with the Kopanang Gold Mine Limited Schedule of Salaries.
